I had a fantastic experience here! The staff was wonderful and took the time to explain the complicated healthcare process in a way that I could understand. When I went to pick up my order, they were busy with a long line, but they quickly opened another register so I could get on my way quickly. I really appreciate their prompt and helpful service.

While on a River Cruise, we needed some meds. The ship stopped for the night in Stevenson, and the pharmacy was open. We were able to fill and be on our way again.

Lent me pills when my doctor's was taking too long with my refill. Friendly and helpful. Love the old school vibe and yes, they do have a great selection of candy.

They do the best they can as a small independent pharmacy taking care of an entire section of the Gorge. Here are some tips from an almost 30 year pharmacist for HOW TO have a better pharmacy experience: 1.Place your order 2-3 days in advance, 5-7 days if it says “no refill” on your bottle. 2. Always call from the phone number on your account, using the automated system by typing in the number on your bottle. Ask your pharmacy for a printout if you take meds that require a new RX# each fill. THIS PUTS YOU IN QUEUE IN ORDER RECEIVED. 3. Sign up to receive Text or Email when your order is ready, and it will keep count for you. Privacy law prevents drug names in such messages. 4. Make sure you ask your doctor to send new scripts at every office visit. Discuss the dates you need to pickup future orders so they don’t have to be changed later. Make sure the directions on your drug list match the way you take your med. 5. Pop in the pharmacy as your first errand in town, to check in and request to be expedited if you haven’t gotten a text yet. IT’S IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE EVERY ORDER READY WITHIN A FEW HOURS OF RECEIPT BUT ONCE YOU ARE IN STORE YOU GET EXPEDITED. 6. Volume is worst the first week of the month, on Mondays, days before/after Holidays, if the Gorge is on fire/frozen, if the power or computers go out, if an employee is out sick, etc. Planning ahead means less emergencies and less waiting in town. BEING EXPEDITED can still mean a wait time from 10min to an hour depending on how many people are in the same boat. 7. Check in again, or come to the pharmacy in person, with your old bottles, if you haven’t gotten a text/email, and no one will answer the phone or return your call. They must be overloaded and trying to keep up! The pharmacy staff wants you to be happy, healthy, and have the medicines you need. ORDERS ARE FILLED AS RECEIVED with new scripts for same day meds like antibiotics being put ahead of refills. When the EXPEDITED line gets long enough or volume/staffing is such that the staff can barely keep up, please understand it is not incompetence or indifference. A rushed pharmacy can cause deadly mistakes. Your safety has to come first. Unfortunately the country is on track for wait times in healthcare to continue to get longer and more frustrating.
